After the split artist release “Paradise Architects EP” back in July twenty eighteen, String Theorem & Test Pattern back it up for their sophomore EP on your favorite recording label. On a stunning debut containing healthy dosings of peak time belters, ambient crowd noises, and *trigger warning* infectious sax lines, “Paradise Architects” hit like a sunrise set during the first good day of Summer. The follow up titled “Internal // External EP” arrives in time to find the laconic breaking of our antipodean winter (thank fuck!). The cold air lifts, coercing yourself to vacate the inside of your chill bunker, sniffing in those first pollinated vapours of spring. That’s right people, it’s time to slither out of your pallid pleather winter skins, evade your fitzroy crafted leather boots and bust out your best black summer leather (fyi in clipp.art world, every season is black leather weather). If you ask me, the pleasure of music often (always) accounts from the joy arising from dualling opposites. exempli gratia: strong melody / weak lyrics, heavy production / light mood, dark rooms / bright vibes, legato / staccato, etcetera etcetera. Anyway, with an average 8+ minute play length on each of these four low velocity belters, sit back and relax throw a picnic rug down, crack open a couple oprah tinsfreys, OR just glide yourself into a dance corner, it’s all a very inside / outside situation. One in the ying, two in the yang. Flip. Repeat.
