Coming off a run of no less than 8 original releases in the last 2 years, with heaters on labels including Lobster Theremin, In Records, Anti Skate, and Or:La's Deep Sea Frequency imprint, Valencian producer Pépe flexs his inherent gift for combining crystalline melodies and complex drum programming. "Las Arenas" puts a gentle twist on the classic Detroit-sound formula while taking it up a vibe with a mixture of high-velocity TR-808 percussion, ninja-sharp arpeggios, and full-bodied bassline that will have shadows moving uncontrollably.
