What a mental week. We hope everyone tuned in is surviving & looking out for those in need. There’s also a LOT of people struggling with anxiety & mental issues right now so keep your online banter positive please, people. This latest release comes from Sesì and follows her “Civil War 999” from the last SOUNDS LIKE A GOOD TIME III compilation. With Sesì currently trapped in Italy due to this horrid COVID19 outbreak that has moved through that particular country so severely, it feels like these 3 tracks that make up “AMAPOLA” take on an extra heavy dimension of introspection. Sounds fall in and out of other sounds while nonlinear arrangements and multi-timbral structures are found across all tracks. Drift waves of melody wash over a melange of styles, with beats bouncing between breaks & new wave rhythms. It’s all pretty deep stuff, which will work for those trading their dance-floor for a meditation mat. Stay strong, troopers. Everything will pass. Breathe in. Breath out.
